How do I request extra login accounts for my customers?
You can request extra login accounts by sending an e-mail to info@uitwisselmap.com.

When do I use a web browser?
You use a web browser when you want to communicate with the Uitwisselmap.com server via a user-friendly interface, from any computer with an Internet connection. Downloading and uploading files is done via a web interface which is compatible with any web browser.

When do I use an FTP client?
You use an FTP client when you want to use a ‘drag & drop’ method to download and upload many files at once. You need to be familiar with installing, configuring and using FTP client software.

Other users can download and view my files
If you have a standard subscription then multiple users share the same directory. Those other users therefore can download and view your files. If you need secured directories for yourself and your customers then you should choose an extended subscription.

I have problems downloading a file
– Verify that your user privileges allow you to download files
– Verify that the filename doesn’t contain accented characters, slashes or symbols
– and that it doesn’t begin with a space or a dot
– Try to download the file with another application (using an FTP client instead of a
– web browser, or vice versa)

I have problems uploading a file
– Verify that your user privileges allow you to upload files
– Verify that the filename doesn’t contain accented characters, slashes or symbols
– and that it doesn’t begin with a space or a dot
– Try to upload the file with another application (using an FTP client instead of a
– web browser, or vice versa)

I have problems deleting a file
– Verify that your user privileges allow you to delete files
– Verify that the filename doesn’t contain accented characters, slashes or symbols
– and that it doesn’t begin with a space or a dot
– Try to delete the file with another application (using an FTP client instead of a
– web browser, or vice versa)

I have problems opening a directory
– Verify that the directory name doesn’t contain accented characters, slashes or
– symbols and that it doesn’t begin with a space or a dot
– Try to open the directory with another application (using an FTP client instead of a
– web browser, or vice versa)

I have problems creating a directory
– Verify that your user privileges allow you to create directories
– Verify that the directory name doesn’t contain accented characters, slashes or
– symbols and that it doesn’t begin with a space or a dot
– Try to create the directory with another application (using an FTP client instead of a
– web browser, or vice versa)

I have problems deleting a directory
– If you use a web browser then a directory can only be deleted if it is empty; empty
– the directory first or use an FTP client to delete the directory
– Verify that your user privileges allow you to delete directories
– Verify that the directory name doesn’t contain accented characters, slashes or
– symbols and that it doesn’t begin with a space or a dot
– Try to delete the directory with another application (using an FTP client instead of a
– web browser, or vice versa)

I get the error message “Server error: Unable to open file. (-43)”
The name of the file or directory contains an unsupported character (accented character, slash or symbol) or it begins with a space or a dot. Contact LMFS for a solution.

Large ZIP files get damaged
Due to a bug in the Mac OS X operating system it is not possible to create ZIP files larger than approximately 100 MB. Try to compress your files with Stuffit or create multiple, smaller ZIP files.

Why does it take so long to download and/or upload files?
The speed of downloading and uploading files is limited by the speed of your Internet connection. Contact your Internet Service Provider for more information.
